I don't understand what a derivative represents. Explain it more simply.
A derivative describes how a quantity changes. On a curve, it gives the slope of the tangent at the point you are studying.
What if the derivative is negative?
At that point, the curve slopes down as x increases.
For f(x) = x² + 3x, give me just a hint to calculate f′(2).
Start by differentiating each term separately. Does the derivative of 3x disappear, or does a constant remain?
Should I replace x with 2 straight away?
Differentiate first to get f′(x), then replace x with 2.
My array has 5 elements, numbered 0 to 4. Why is accessing T[5] a problem?
With this numbering, T[5] refers to a sixth element that doesn't exist. The last valid index is 4.
What about my loop?
